Call to                         They all gave out of their wealth. But she, out of her Confession    poverty, put in everything – all she had to live on. Let us

Collect            Ever-loving God, we thank you today for our mothers, their loving care and ceaseless love for us, which we see as an expression of your grace. May we show them by our gifts, words and actions that we love them and care for them too. We thank you also for the family of the Church. May they know your blessings and strength as they care for others that we may ever feel more deeply your love for us in Christ Jesus our Saviour. Amen.

Creed  Let us declare our faith in God.


All       
We believe in God the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named.
We believe in God the Son, who lives in our hearts through faith, and fills us with his love.
We believe in God the Holy Spirit, who strengthens us with power from on high.
We believe in one God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Intercession    As children of a loving God who always listens to our cries, let us pray to our Father in heaven.

Loving God, you have given us the right to be called children of God. We thank you for the love of mothers and care givers. Help us to show your love in our homes. Through your love make our homes sanctuaries of love, security, peace and grace.
God of love,
hear our prayer.

Loving God, Jesus, your Son, was born into a family at Nazareth. Bless all parents and all who care for children. Give strength to families who are challenged, stressed and yearning for love. In the absence of human love, fill those homes with your love.

Loving God, we thank you for the family of the Church. We pray that the church will be a place of welcome to all; the poor, the lonely, the marginalized, the labourer and the rejected. That in your church all may find their true home where your love is shared.

Loving God, as we look around we see the brokenness of our nation and our world. We pray for healing among the different communities of our nation and for healing among the nations of the world. We pray for the lives lost through conflict, for the hungry and the homeless, the oppressed. May your love bring joy, freedom and peace.

Loving God, as a mother feeds her children at the breast you feed us in this sacrament with the food and drink of eternal life: help us who have tasted your goodness to grow in grace within the household of faith; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Blessing
May the Lord who brought us all to birth, strengthen us for daily life.
May the Lord who provides for all our needs sustain us day by day.
May the Lord whose steadfast love is for all, send us out to live and work for others. And the blessing…… Amen.

The Evangelical Lutheran Church, Geneva. Evangelical Lutheran Church of Geneva 17th Sunday after Pentecost, 11.00am on 6th October 2019 Another Sunday and another opportunity to attend a worship service, and this time at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Geneva. As ususal the students who signed up just three this time were picked up by Valerie. A small compact homely church in Geneva. Friendly, welcoming and makes you feel at home. Lively, inclusive worship, with an informal atmosphere.  An interaction on the countries of focus The service started with children gathering around a world map and the countries that are prayed for in the ecumenical prayer circle are Children gather at the font explained to the children. There after they are led to the baptism font, and there takes place the thanksgiving for baptism, with the children standing around the font with an adaption from 2 Tim 1:1-14 being read interspersed with prayers and an sung antiphon...
