Heavenly Father, whose Spirit helps us in times of weakness, yet we have failed; to share your love in a broken world but give importance to what takes us away from the love of God and prevent us from loving our brothers and sisters. Forgive us and cleanse us for the sake of your son Jesus, that we will learn to look to the things above and live in your likeness knowing that nothing can separate us from you love. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

May the God of love forgive you your sins and bring you to the eternal joy of his kingdom, where dust and ashes have no domain. Amen.

Sermon
Intercession your response to “Lord hear our prayer” will be “let your cry come un to you”
In a world that where evil and corruption is multiplying, and where values of life are changing, we thank God that he has chosen us to be mustard seeds and yeast in this world. Let us pray that God will help us to bring to this world the richness of his kingdom the life that we live.
We thank God for the National Christian Council of Sri Lanka and for God’s blessings and guidance on it’s journey thus far. That God will guide the churches of the NCC as they journey together amidst differences, and through their work and relationship will help build the kingdom of God and to break down walls of division which will help us all live in harmony and show the world that nothing can separate us from God’s love.
We pray for our Diocese as we prepare to elect a new Bishop, that God will guide the council to be wise in their selection, and give those coming forward to be candidates the gift of discernment and those entrusted with the preparations the courage to be neutral.
We pray for the world at war with Corvid-19 and its effects, that leaders will be wise, and people more understanding and corporative, and for the healing of the affected and for honest assurances to the indirectly affected that God in his goodness will look down upon our world and in compassion bring healing and restoration.
We pray for our own church here in Badulla that God will help us to identify the richness of his kingdom in our midst, to desire it and to pursue it that we may be rich with it’s values.
We remember the Republic of Congo, Gabon, Sao Tome and Principe, being thankful to God the beauty of these lands and for those who protect their habitats, traditions, folklore and pray for political stability in this region, economic development, protection of wildlife and the witness of the churches.

Sermon
The Affirmation of Faith
We believe in one God, the Father, the almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father, through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became truly human. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father, who with the Father and the Son is worshipped and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.
Intercession your response to “Lord hear our prayer” will be “let your cry come un to you”

All God, treasury of all that is good; like seed growing into a mighty tree and yeast that makes the bread rise, your kingdom is already working in our midst. Kindle in us the desire to seek it, and bestow the wisdom to discern it. Make us single-minded to pursue it, and give delight in the finding of it, so that, with joy in it’s diversity, we may announce it’s richness everywhere. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Offertory Hymn -
Spirit of God within me,
possess my human frame;
fan the dull embers of my heart,
stir up the living flame.
Strive till that image Adam lost,
new minted and restored,
in shining splendour brightly bears
the likeness of the Lord.
Spirit of truth within me,
possess my thought and mind;
lighten anew the inward eye
by Satan rendered blind;
shine on the words that wisdom speaks
and grant me power to see
the truth made known to all in Christ,
and in that truth be free.
Spirit of love within me,
possess my hands and heart;
break through the bonds of self-concern
that seeks to stand apart:
grant me the love that suffers long,
that hopes, believes and bears,
the love fulfilled in sacrifice,
that cares as Jesus cares.
Spirit of life within me,
possess this life of mine;
come as the wind of heaven's breath,
come as the fire divine!
Spirit of Christ, the living Lord,
reign in this house of clay,
till from its dust with Christ I rise
to everlasting day.
Offertory prayer
We bring to your table, O God, what your bountiful goodness has given us. By this sacrament, make holy our life on earth and bring us to the joy of life eternal. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Amen
The Great Thanksgiving
The Lord be with you
And also with you
Lift up your hearts
We lift them to the Lord
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God
It is right to give thanks and praise.
It is indeed right, it is our duty and our joy, at all times and in all places to give you thanks and praise, holy Father, heavenly King, almighty and eternal God.
And now we give you thanks because you have opened the treasures of the kingdom to all who love you.
Therefore, with angels and archangels and with all the company of heaven, we proclaim your great and glorious name, forever praising you, and saying:
Holy, holy, holy Lord God of power and might
Heaven and earth are full of your glory
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord
Hosanna in the highest.
Holy indeed are you, and blessed truth, Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, for of your tender mercy you gave your only Son, Jesus Christ, to take our nature upon him, and to suffer death upon the Cross for our redemption, where by his one oblation, and satisfaction, for the sins of the whole world; and instituted, and his holy Gospel commanded us to continue a perpetual memorial of that his precious death, until his coming again.
Who in the same night that he was betrayed, took bread and gave you thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying: Take, eat, this is my body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of me. In the same way, after supper, he took the cup; and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying: Drink this, all of you, this is my blood of the new covenant, which is shed for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me. Amen.
And so, Lord and heavenly Father, we your humble servants celebrate and here make before your Divine Majesty, with these your holy gifts, and remember what your Son has commanded us to do in memory of his blessed passion and precious death, his mighty resurrection, and glorious ascension; we offer to you our heartfelt thanks for the numerous benefits won for by the same, and looking for his coming again with power and great glory.
We earnestly pray that out of your fatherly goodness you would accept on high this our sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving, praying that by the merits and death of your Son Jesus Christ, and through faith in his blood, we and all your whole Church may obtain forgiveness of our sins, and all other benefits of his passion.
And we humbly pray, most merciful Father, that you would send down your holy and life giving Spirit upon us and upon these your gifts, that the Bread that we break may be the communion of the Body of Christ, and the Cup that we bless may be the communion of the blood of Christ and that we may be fulfilled with your grace and blessing, and made one body in your Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.
And here we offer O Lord, ourselves, our souls and bodies to be a reasonable, holy and living sacrifice, and pray that you accept it, not weighing our merits but pardoning our offences through Jesus Christ our Lord.
All By whom and with whom and in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all honour and glory be to you, Gracious Father, world without end. Amen.
