Silence

Opening prayer
to be sung prayerfully

Open our eyes, Lord,
we want to see Jesus,
to reach out and touch him,
and say that we love him.
Open our ears, Lord,
and help us to listen.
Open our eyes, Lord,
we want to see Jesus.

Confession

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. I Peter 2:9

In silence bring to mind the times your life has not revealed you to be known as the people of God.

In joy of being forgiven and recommitting to his way the following chorus may be sung

Follow! follow! I will follow Jesus!
Anywhere, everywhere, I will follow on!
Follow! follow! I will follow Jesus!
Everywhere He leads me I will follow on!

Collect to be said by all

Eternal God, your Only-Begotten Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life for all creation; Grant us grace to walk in Christ’s way, to rejoice in Christ’s truth, and to share in Christ’s risen life; who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, One God, now and forever. Amen.

Bible reading John 14:1 - 14

Reflection

Intercessions

We continue to pray for the world and it’s healing. For all affected by the virus, for their families, the medical staff who treat them, and for frontline workers. For Gods healing and restoration.

We pray for peace and stability in homes as families continue to spend more time together. We remember families that face abuse and violence, during this period, very specially pray for children, women and the elderly.

For all who live with fear and suspicion. For all who have gone through extended periods of curfew. For those who have been inside their flats and apartments not forgetting those with poor living standards - line rooms and huts.

For individuals have to face personal challenges – sicknesses, finance, job security and uncertainty of the future.

For the leaders of our country that they may lead the people in the right path of justice and righteousness, truthfulness and honesty, wellbeing and life. For the leaders of the church, that as member of the body of Christ they may walk and lead in the way, truth and life of Jesus.

The Lord Prayer

Living with hope

Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31-32
