Hymn - Glorious things of thee are spoken,

Introductory Sentence
But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears  the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. Matthew 13:23

Silence

Blessed be God
Blessed be Gods reign forever. Amen.

Opening prayer
God, our freedom, who raised Christ from the dead to be the promise and the first fruits of your Spirit dwelling within us; set our minds on that same spirit, so that your word may take root in our hearts and flourish unhindered in lives that bear fruit with works of love. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Call to Confession
For Christ did not send me to baptize, but preach the gospel - not with words of human wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power. Let us seek God’s forgiveness for our failure to share Christ to the world. (1 Cor 1:17)

Silence

Confession
May your loving mercy come to me, O Lord, and your salvation according to your word:
Lord, have mercy.
Lord, have mercy.

Your word is a lantern to my feet and a light to my path:
Christ, have mercy.
Christ, have mercy.

O let your mercy come to me that I may live, for your law is my delight:
Lord, have mercy.
Lord, have mercy.

Absolution
Hear the good news. Through Jesus Christ we have redemption and the forgiveness of sins. God hears. God cares. God forgives. In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven. Amen.

Gloria

Collect
God of the harvest, you have planted us in your Church to witness that you were in Christ reconciling people to yourself; let your seed take root and grow, and by the Holy Spirit stir the hearts of many that they may be ready to spend and be spent in your service: and help us to proclaim the goods news of your love that all who hear and see it may be reconciled to you; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Sermon

The affirmation of Faith
We believe in one God, the Father, the almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father, through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became truly human. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father, who with the Father and the Son is worshipped and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Intercession

Greeting of Peace
But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him. 2 Cor 2:14

The peace of the Lord be always with you
And also with you

Offertory Hymn

Christ taught us of a farmer who went out sowing seeds.
A few had trouble growing among the rocks and weeds.
But others grew till harvest in soil that was so good.
O God, you sow the gospel: The seed is your own word.

You sowed your word of love here so many years ago.
Your message found a welcome; your word began to grow.
By grace, this church was built here by saints who followed you.
The seed took root and flourished: we hear and follow, too.

We thank you for each member who lives in loving ways,
For those who seek to serve you without expecting praise.
For hearts and songs uplifted, for work and sacrifice.
The seed you planted grows here: we grow in Jesus Christ.

In times of joy we praise you, in struggling times we search,
And always we are learning to be your faithful church.
Your Spirit gives us vision, and hearts and lives made new.
Your harvest is for sharing: sent out, we work for you.

Offertory prayer
All things come from you and for your own do we give you, Creator and Lord of the universe, ever adored by the holy Angels. Accept these gifts which we present at your holy table and with them the dedication of our lives for your service, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

THE EUCHARISTIC PRAYER

The Lord be with you
And also with you

Lift up your hearts.
We lift them to the Lord.

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right to give God thanks and praise.

It is right and a good and joyful thing, always and everywhere to give thanks to you, Gracious Father, creator of heaven and earth.

And now we give you thanks because by the Holy Spirit you lead us into all truth, and give us power to proclaim your gospel to the nations and to serve you as a royal priesthood.

Therefore, we praise you, joining our voices with angels and archangels and with all the company of heaven, who forever sing this hymn to proclaim the glory of your name.

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest.

Holy indeed are you almighty Father Eternal Sovereign who in all your gifts and works, manifests your holiness to all humanity. Holy is your Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ through whom you did order the universe. And Holy is your ever blessed Spirit who reveals all things, even the deep things of you O God.

Just as you yourself are holy, so also you created us in your own image that we might live in holy fellowship. And when we disobeyed your commandments, you did not abandon us but you guided us as a merciful Father, you revealed yourself to us through the sages, the Law and the Prophets, and through your redeeming acts in history, and when the time was ripe, you came among us through your Son Jesus, whom you sent into the world to share our human nature in order that the Lord Jesus might revive your own image in us.

Generous God, Jesus loves us and sacrificed self for us and heralded the new life in breaking bread with companions.

On the very night that he was betrayed to suffer death upon the cross for us, the Lord Jesus took bread and when he had given thanks to you almighty Father, he broke it and gave it to his disciples saying: Take, eat, this is my body which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me. In the same manner after supper, he took the cup also, and after giving thanks, he gave it to them saying: Drink, all of you from this, for this is my blood of the new covenant which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this, as often as you drink, it in remembrance of me.

Great is the mystery of faith
We proclaim your death, O Lord, and live by your resurrection, and await your coming again

And so Father, we present this bread and cup in communion with your whole church, in fellowship with all the saints, and in union with all creation we celebrate your Son’s death and victory; giving thanks for all that Christ has done for us; for preparing us for all that lies ahead, as we receive the benefits of Christ’s life, death, resurrection and session in glory, and we eagerly await the heavenly banquet after Christ’s coming again.

And we entreat you most merciful God to hear us and send your All Holy Spirit on † us and on these your gifts, that they being blessed and hallowed by that life giving power, may be for us the Body and Blood of your most dearly loved Son, to the end that we receiving the same may be sanctified and filled with your grace and heavenly blessing.

Accept this our sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving; make us one body in Jesus Christ our Lord, † by whom and with whom and in whom in the unity of the Holy Spirit all honour and glory be to you almighty Father, world without end. Amen.

BREAKING OF THE BREAD

Deacon: The bread which we break is it not a sharing in the body of Christ?
We being many are one bread, one body for we all partake of the one bread. (1 Corinthians 10:16-17)

THE COMMUNION

Deacon: As our Saviour Christ has taught us, we now pray

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed by thy name. The Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen

The peace of the Lord be always with you
All And also with you.

Presider: The gifts of God for the people of God
Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world: have mercy on us.
Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world: have mercy on us
Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world: grant us peace

Deep Silence

THE INVITATION

Deacon: Draw near with faith and take this Holy Sacrament to your comfort.
Lord, I am not worthy to receive you, but only say the word and I shall be healed.

After communion
Deacon: Give thanks to the Lord for God is gracious.
All: God’s mercy endures forever.

After communion sentence
For it is time for judgment to begin with God’s household; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God? 1 Peter 4:17

Post Communion Prayer
Receiving these holy gifts, we pray to you, Lord, that each time we celebrate this mystery the work of your salvation may grow within us. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Blessing
May God whose word never returns empty, accomplish in you his purposes
May Christ who is our Good News, make you bear fruit that the whole world may see
May the Spirit who guides you into all truth, reveal to you what he hears and what is to come
And the blessing of God Almighty, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit be with you all, now and forever more.

Dismissal Blessed are those who hear the word of God and obey it. Go now in peace to love and serve the Lord.
In the name of Christ. Amen.

Praise him all creatures here below
Praise him above ye heavenly hosts
